“I’ve only felt it once before.” She sighed tiredly. “Love. You know, the won’t-eat-can’t-sleep kind that you see in all the movies.”
“And what happened?” I asked.
She regarded me with a faraway look in her eyes. “It was a long time ago. I was just a kid in high-school, I didn’t know what “love” was.”
“But you felt something.” I gently persisted.
“I was the only one.” She said with a sad smile. “Love is just another emotion, really. You feel it for a moment, then it’s gone. Oh, but when you feel it, there’s nothing more real.”
